1980's Fuji Allegro

This was a complete 1980's Fuji Allegro road bike. My niece needed a bike and I am not quite sure how it happened, but the project turned into a Fuji Townie. I left all of the original aluminum parts and replaced all the steel parts with aluminum, so the bike is really light, despite all the parts. She loves the bike and I think it turned out quite nice.

It has the original frame, Suntour derailluers, brake calipers and wheels. I added Velo-Orange (they have cool stuff www.velo-orange.com) cranks and MKS pedals. I think I even changed the bottom bracket.

I added Tektro brake levers and hand sewn leather grips also from Velo-Orange.

They seatpost may be original, but I added a Velo-Orange leather saddle. It is Velo-Orange's low cost equivalent to a Brooks saddle, but the same quality.

I changed the headset, added a Profile quill stem adapter to accommodate the Velo-Orange stem and bars. I used Paul Thumbies shifter mounts and found some vintage Huret shifters to give it that old school look and feel.

I finished it off with some Velo-Orange stainless braided cables and housings. I also added some Velo- Orange fenders to keep the spray off of the rider and to complete that Townie look and feel.
